Massive overhaul to the technology and engines inside the B650 series has resulted in dramatic performance and quality increases on the audio/visual performance side, and new features along with design changes and user experience tweaks make the new PN-B650 models simply stunning, fun and a joy to use. The new 6-series lacks a 63 inch option this year (Step down to 5 series for 63 inch Samsung PN63B590 size), but remains true to the rest of the model sizing structure with 50 inch and 58 inch models available in the Samsung pn50b650 plasma (50 inch viewing measured diagonally) and Samsung PN58B650 Plasma (58 inch viewing measured diagonally) Comparing the differences of the PN50A650 vs PN50B650 are drastic, and the result is just a much overall improved experience and video performance… The 50A650 plasma has been discontinued, and with recent PN50B650 price drops, it is about the same if not cheaper price as the 50A650 model before it was replaced.

Plasma vs. LCD (better price vs. performance when above 47”)

I spent some time researching plasma vs. lcd television at first before stumbling across the new Samsung series 6 plasma lineup, and found that after you get about the 50” range, Plasmas are much better bang for your buck right now. They also have many smaller benefits with one of the only downsides being that they may be a little bit more fragile and are susceptible to a lamp replacement after long periods of usage.

For an HDTV of this caliber and with these features, nothing even scratches the PN50A650 50” Plasma set right now… It is simply a much better deal than the rest when you compare it versus the competition. A note here is that stores like BB and CC offered much higher prices then I was able to find online, with Amazon.com offering the best price of anywhere by a good margin and with truly exceptional return/shipping/quality policies I would whole-heartedly recommend Amazon as the best place to buy Samsung’s PN50A650 online or offline.
