I have never really left reviews online after buying products, but after buying, using and falling in love with this thing, I thought about it and figured why not leave my own Samsung PN50A650 Review since all the great and positive PN50A650 Reviews were what helped me to find this awesome performing and cheaply priced Plasma HDTV.
Plasma vs. LCD (better price vs. performance when above 47”)
I spent some time researching plasma vs. lcd television at first before stumbling across the new Samsung series 6 plasma lineup, and found that after you get about the 50” range, Plasmas are much better bang for your buck right now. They also have many smaller benefits with one of the only downsides being that they may be a little bit more fragile and are susceptible to a lamp replacement after long periods of usage.
Price:
For an HDTV of this caliber and with these features, nothing even scratches the PN50A650 50” Plasma set right now… It is simply a much better deal than the rest when you compare it versus the competition. A note here is that stores like BB and CC offered much higher prices then I was able to find online, with Amazon.com offering the best price of anywhere by a good margin and with truly exceptional return/shipping/quality policies I would whole-heartedly recommend Amazon as the best place to buy Samsung’s PN50A650 online or offline.
Performance / Picture / Sound:
I’m consistently stunned by the depth, clarity, precision and beauty that this Plasma panel produces… It makes all my friends expensive televisions look like crap, and is much more vibrant, detailed and all around performing then any television I have ever seen… Including all the others I watched at Best Buy while shopping there not too long ago. Some other Samsung PN50A650 Reviews and reports I have read suggested to play around with the picture setting to tweak it further, but I found the out of the box setting to be marvelous and just right for my entertainment center actually. The sound quality is great just the way it is as well, making my older Panasonic Viera Television sound like an old box with a couple rusty speakers’ places inside. I do think it’s important to have an HDMI signal, as once I bought an HDMI cable to plug into the Blu-Ray player I really started to fall in love with the pure High Def quality of the video and audio of the PN-50A650. Contrast Ratio is incredible, Black Levels unbeatable and overall performance undeniably unbeatable at this low price tag… A true most own for budget 50” + HDTV shoppers!
Two Thumbs up - a must own!
I have already turned a few friends onto this television and hope they do buy it… It truly is a breathtaking piece of technology, and for the size and performance it delivers at the price savings amazon.com offered me, you’re saving a huge margin and could invest in the xbox360/PS3, Blu-ray, and a cheap home theatre system! Two thumbs up way way up… as soon as I can remove them from my new Samsung’s remote control haha!
